Kids Power Occupational Therapy

  • Parents Consultation
  • DCD/Dyspraxia Assessment

Our homes are the place we and our children feel relaxed, safe and confident. When this is compromised through accident, neurological conditions or illness an occupational therapist can help by ensuring that your home environment best meets your / your children’s changing or new abilities. It may be though advice on small items of equipment, larger purchases such as stair lifts or support with more major changes such as bathroom modifications.

We provide a detailed individual assessment in support of a Disabled / Housing Grant Application, where an Occupational Therapist’s report provides essential evidence that home alterations are ‘ necessary and appropriate’ as indicated within the framework of Housing Act 1996 (as amended) legislation.

An Initial assessment will be carried out in your own home to review the environment and establish current difficulties. The assessment is then followed up with a detailed report. Our recommendations section of the report contains on immediate and long-term solutions to any challenges identified.  If the equipment is recommended,  we will provide some details that include the make, model source or likely cost when possible.
